This Chili Pepper Is So Hot, It Could Kill You

Mike Smith is a chef from Wales and he's created a chili pepper so hot, it could actually kill you. To give you a sense, Dragon's Breath measures more than 2.48m on the Scoville scale (which ranks the heat in peppers). That's 23-thousand times spicier then paprika.

Smith himself explains the pepper could cause someone to go into anaphylactic shock, causing their airways to burn and close up. Yikes.

So if you can't eat them, what are we supposed to do with Dragon's Breath? Use them in medicine. According to Smith, “It was developed because a lot of people are allergic to anesthetic, and this can be applied to the skin because it is so strong it numbs it.”

What's more, the oils in the pepper are much cheaper than anesthetic, so Dragon's Breath could be used in developing countries.
