Shania Twain famously name-dropped Brad Pitt in her iconic late 1990s anthem, âThat Donât Impress Me Much.â But now, nearly 30 years after releasing the track on her smash-hit album Come On Over, the global megastar said she would swap out Pitt for another celebrity.
No, it isnât Ryan Reynolds, despite Twain unexpectedly swapping out Pittâs name for Reynoldsâ while she was on stage performing âThat Donât Impress Me Muchâ during the 2022 Peopleâs Choice Awards last December. Reynolds embraced the surprise name swap, saying when he shared a clip of the performance on his Instagram story that âthis may be the best thing thatâs ever happened to me.â
âOkay, so youâre Brad Pitt/ That donât impress me much/ So you got the looks, but have you got the touch?/ Now, donât get me wrong â yeah, I think youâre alright/ But that wonât keep me warm in the middle of the night/ That donât impress me much.â
Twain, however, reveals in an interview earlier this year that if she wrote âThat Donât Impress Me Muchâ in 2023, she would instead select Channing Tatum to name-drop in the iconic single. She included that fact and others in a new pop-up video featuring some facts about the song and Paul Boyd-directed music video in a clip shared on TikTok on Monday (November 20).
Twain also noted that she filmed the âThat Donât Impress Me Muchâ video in the Mojave Desert, that she wrote the song on Christmas Day and more. Watch it here:
