George Strait just released a new single, “Código,” which celebrates tequila, with George singing, “A little sip and you’re ready to roll… I’m talkin’ ‘bout Código.”
The tune is George’s first new music since 2015’s “Cold Beer Conversation,” his 26th album to top the “Billboard” Top Country Albums chart.
- Meanwhile, George returned to Las Vegas this weekend for the 19thand 20th show in his “Strait to Vegas” residency at the T Mobile Arena. The shows were his first without longtime drummer Mike Kennedy, who died in August, and George took a moment out from his show to remember his longtime bandmate. “We had some tragedy that happened to us Labor Day weekend,” Geroge told his audience. “We lost our drummer of almost 30 years, Mike Kennedy. God bless him. We didn’t know how we were going to handle this.” He then added, “I know Mike would want us to keep going, so we are.”
