No sooner did Elsa deal a glancing blow to Florida than forecasters bumped up the prediction for the rest of the season. Elsa was the earliest 'E' storm in history, and caused minimal damage to Florida.
Colorado State University upping the forecast for named storms -- last month's prediction was 18 named storms -- today's is 20. Originally, they predicted 8 hurricanes -- they're now predicting 9 with four of those cat 3 or higher.
