A tattoo artist in Russia is in hot water after he chose his cat as his next client...again. Aleksandr Purtov, drugged then tattooed his hairless Sphynx cat Demon. For what it's worth, he has regrets. Sort of.
"Of course I feel pity for doing it to him. It’s not like he wanted to do it himself," Aleksadnr explains. "I hope it is not too bad for him, it is not his first tattoo. Usually he feels fine and recovers from the anaesthesia pretty fast." He adds that he doesn't see the difference between what he did to Demon and farmers who brand their livestock.
Animal activists, and animal lovers, definitely see the difference. As animal activist Yelizaveta Skorynina explains, "The drug turns off the movement of the cat, but the brain is still working. If he does it frequently, it could affect its heart."
