Mom Returns From Deployment, Surprises Son

After a seven-month deployment, Georgina Walton, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, surprised her son in the best way. The military mom came to her six-year-old son Brody Floyd’s baseball game in Charleston, South Carolina, where he was throwing the first pitch and she came out to greet him.

Walton worked it out with her son’s coaches so he could pitch first and they kept the whole thing a surprise. After months away from her son while she was serving her country, she knew she wanted to do something special for her homecoming.

“He was super wide-eyed. He couldn’t believe it,” Walton says of their reunion. “He just wrapped his arms around me and hugged me for a long time. It was exciting but very emotional. I felt like I was gone forever. I got to see him and give him a kiss. I’d been waiting for that.”
