Americans have taken the title of World’s Longest Pizza from Italy, whichhad set a new world record last year. The new winner was a single sheet of dough, sauce, and cheese that stretched more than 6,330 feet - which is longer than a mile - around the racetrack at the Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.
The pizza pit crew who broke the Guinness World Record for longest pizza on the planet included Tony Gemignani of Tony’s Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, Giulio Adriani of New York City’s Forcella, and Jimmy DeSisto from Venice Bakery in Torrance, California.
Sadly, even though tons of fans came to witness the event, only some of them got to chow on the record-winning pizza because of an “organizational/scheduling snafu.” But it was still an impressive pizza making moment, even without the taste test.
