Woman's Nose Bleeds Are Caused By A Tooth

A woman in China has been suffering from near constant nose bleeds for decades. The patient, identified only as Xia, chalked it up to an inflammation of the tissue inside her nose. As it turns out, there was something in her nose...a tooth.

Doctors noticed a spot on Xia's x-ray and figured it was a foreign object of some kind. During surgery, they discovered the tooth, complete with a root and crown.

According to Specialist Zhou Jianpo, the condition is called supernumerary teeth and it develops while the baby is in the womb. You're not likely to hear about another case of it though. There are fewer than 20 documented cases in China.
