Kimberly Morris might be the luckiest person in North Carolina. The Wake Forest woman won a $10-thousand prize off a scratch-off ticket. On the way home from claiming her jackpot at the lottery headquarters in Raleigh, she decided to stop at the same grocery store where she bought the first ticket and buy another one.
That scratch-off, it turns out, was worth a whopping $1-million. For that prize, Morris took the lump sum. At the end of the day, she took home a little more than $412-thousand after taxes.
