Giving a fake number to a guy at a bar is an easy way of insuring you’ll never hear from that dude again, but some guys don’t give up so easy, and in Canada, one guy’s persistence, had an unexpected outcome.
A guy named Carlos Zetina went to a bar in Calgary last week and met a girl from Holland named Nicole, who gave him her number. But it turns out, Nicole gave him either a wrong or fake number. Not content to end things there, Zetina actually decided to email all 264 Nicoles in the University of Calgary’s directory, including Nicolettes and Nickies just to be safe.
“Hi, this is a mass email to all Nicoles if you don't fit this description then ignore and if you are the one and just don't want to talk to me that's okay as well," he wrote. "If [your] name is Nicole and you're from Holland and you think Nietzsche is depressing then text me.”
As you can imagine, all the Nicoles who got the email were a bit perplexed, with many of them replying to each other with comments like “Should we all say we’re the real Nicole?" and "Will the real Nicole please stand up?" This actually led to the Nicoles connecting with each other and some of them decided to meet up at a bar that night. According to one Nicole, they all “kind of clicked,” and they decided to create a networking group on Facebook, which they’ve named "Nicole From Last Night,” with plans to meet up again.
- As for Zetina’s Nicole, it turns out she didn’t give him a fake number. She was in Calgary on an exchange program and hadn’t memorized the correct number so it was just a mistake. She didn’t get Zetina’s email because she isn’t in the Calgary directory, but thanks to the new Nicole Facebook group she found her man, noting, “the powerful network of Nicoles helped me get in touch."
