Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, Ingleside Citizens are vowing to emerge from this current situation stronger than ever, without losing years of momentum for their annual celebration known as Round Up Days.
This year they are choosing to host a Chili Cook-off to benefit HALO-Flight, the only nonprofit air ambulance response service in South Texas.
Since 1974, the community of Ingleside has pulled together to host Round Up Days and Music Fest, a weekend-long fun-time for everyone, hosted by the Ingleside Chamber of Commerce and area businesses. Regrettably, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Ingleside Chamber of Commerce and the Round Up Days Committee made the decision to cancel Roundup Days and Music Festival for 2021; but a determined number of Chamber Leaders and Members said the show must go on.
Plans for the abbreviated celebration this year are a Chili Cook-off benefiting HALO-Flight on Saturday, March 27, at Chalet Sports Bar & Grill Patio Venue on Texas Highway 361 in Ingleside.
The Chalet Sports Bar & Grill Patio Venue is outfitted for 18 Cooking Teams that will begin their on-sight preparation at 9 a.m. that day. Tasting Tickets will be sold for $5 so everyone will be able to sample the cuisine entries. Trophies will be awarded by People's Choice.
Sponsorships and Team Registrations are available at: https://app.donorview.com/pEmPk
In addition to the Cook-off, musical entertainment will be provided by the OTB Band, and a silent auction and assorted vendor booths are planned.
