#JavelinaNation Weather Update

A Tropical Storm Warning and Flash Flood Watch are in effect for Kleberg County and the Coastal Bend due to the potential impact of Tropical Storm Nicholas. Because of this and out of an abundance of caution, classes for Monday, September 13, 2021, are canceled and the Marc Cisneros Center for Young Children will be closed.

The Texas A&M-Kingsville campus will remain open Monday, including residence life, food service, and the Jernigan Library. The Student Rec Center will remain open from 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. Most campus offices will also remain open, and most employees should report to work as normal. Employees must contact their supervisors if they are unable to work tomorrow.

The University will continue to monitor the weather and assess any aftereffects of the storm. The University expects to be open Tuesday, and classes will resume contingent on the campus and local impacts of Tropical Storm Nicholas.

Now is the time to prepare for the storm, which, at this time, is expected to begin impacting the area Monday afternoon/evening. We will update the campus community via email, social media, and emergency notification system as needed. A message from the Dean of Students: The Kingsville Connection and B&G Shuttle are impacted by Kleberg County's closure & will not run on Monday, September 13th. Shuttle services will resume when weather & storm impacts allow. Please be safe as the weather conditions deteriorate.
