Twin brothers in Texas earn valedictorian and salutatorian spots at their high school. Arman and Ronak Saxena have been named valedictorian and salutatorian at their Katy, Texas, high school. Born to Indian immigrant parents, the 17-year-old fraternal twins credit their academic success to their friendly sibling rivalry.
The boys’ parents, Sara and Rohit Saxena, always encouraged the twins to do their best, but say they aren’t just focused on academics. Arman and Ronak also play soccer and basketball and are on the golf team. Both young men will graduate with a 4.865 grade point average and have been taking high school level courses since the seventh grade.
Since they ended up with the exact same GPA, school administrators had to evaluate the classes they took to see who scored higher in those and Arman ended up earning the valedictorian title. They plan to attend Rice University in Houston in the fall where Arman will study statistics and business and Ronak plans to major in bioengineering. And they have made it clear to their parents that they do not plan to live together.
