Gwen Stefani shared her coziest ideal date night with husband Blake Shelton.
Stefani responded to a few rapid-fire questions from Drew Barrymore on an episode of The Drew Barrymore Show. In a clip from the interview shared on Wednesday (April 23), Barrymore asked the “Somebody Else’s” artist whether she prefers a date night in, or a date night out?
“For sure in. Oh my gosh. ...I am literally (on the) couch (with my) blanket, cookies, chips,” Stefani replied. “I just have the whole thing [couch], the dogs down right there, and then we have two couches, and Blake’s on that couch. And we’re like ‘hi!’ I would sit next to him, but he’s gigantic and we don’t fit anywhere.”
Stefani and Shelton met when they were both coaches on The Voice in 2014. Though Stefani previously admitted she nearly didn’t date the country star, the two were inseparable. They confirmed their budding relationship in 2015, got engaged in 2020, and got married in 2021 in a stunning ceremony on Shelton’s ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Shelton has since embraced his role as a stepfather to Stefani’s three sons — Kingston, 18, Zuma, 16, and Apollo, 11 — and said in a previous interview with Entertainment Tonight , “if I could have a repeat of these past 10 years [together, that] would be perfect.”
The No Doubt hitmaker spoke about her romance with Shelton on her previous appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. Stefani shared the stories behind her ;latest studio record, Bouquet, including how Shelton helped inspire the song “Pretty.”
“I look back at all the photos, and I’m like, ‘where did I — where am I the prettiest? When do I like myself the most?’ And it was right when Blake started loving me,” Stefani said. “And I wanted to write a song about that because when you actually feel love for the first time, they reflect you. You can see yourself in them. …This record is kind of just like a diary of those kinds of little thoughts that I had through feeling love for the first time.”
