Jelly Roll revealed he broke his collarbone after an ATV accident.
The soon-to-be Grand Ole Opry member shared in a clip on Instagram on Sunday (March 1) that he “just took this thing out for the first time since I flipped it.” Jelly Roll, 41, “broke my collarbone” in January, shortly before the 2026 Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, California. He won three awards that evening: Best Contemporary Country Album for Beautifully Broken, Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for “Amen” with Shaboozey, and Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song category for “Hard Fought Hallelujah” with Brandon Lake.
“I was so scared to get back on this thing, y’all,” Jelly Roll said in the video he shared on Instagram. He wrote in his caption that he’s “been keeping a secret from y’all.” The award-winning artist admitted he thought he’d “totaled it,” but now, it looks “brand new.” “I just knew that if I didn’t get back on it sooner or later, I was going to just be more and more afraid of it.”
Jelly Roll went on to say he was “running around the Grammys with a broken collarbone. Every time I hugged somebody that week, I wanted to scream. I just didn’t say it. But every time somebody squeezed me, dude, I thought I was gonna cry. Sometimes the machine can do more than the user thinks it can. This was all user error. But anyways, moral of the story: get back on that pony, baby. Love y’all.”
Bunnie Xo wrote in the comments that it was the “worst day of my life.” On her own Instagram account, she shared a glimpse of her husband in the hospital wearing a neck brace. The Dumb Blonde podcast host and Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic author said it was the “worst phone call to ever get,” but now, “he’s healed completely.”
Jelly Roll is among the country artists nominated at the 2026 iHeartRadio Music Awards, returning this spring to Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. See the list of country artists nominated here.
