Texas Athletics is thrilled to announce Midland will headline Longhorn City Limits presented by Still Austin Whiskey Co. on Saturday, August 31. The FREE gameday concert, located on the LBJ Lawn, will open at 10 a.m. with support from rising artist West 22nd prior to Texas Football's season opener versus Colorado State at 2:30 p.m.

Formed in Dripping Springs in 2016, Midland consists of lead vocalist Mark Wystrach, lead guitarist Jess Carson and bassist Cameron Duddy. The band quickly rose to fame with their debut album On the Rocks which garnered critical acclaim and earned them nominations for prestigious awards such as the Grammy Awards and the Academy of Country Music Awards. Their hit single "Drinkin' Problem" is certified 2X Platinum and has over 250 million streams on Spotify alone.

Their sophomore album, Let It Roll, further solidified their status as one of country music's most exciting acts today. Featuring hits like "Mr. Lonely," "Cheatin' Songs" and "Fast Hearts and Slow Towns," Midland continues to push boundaries while staying true to their roots. They are set to release their newest LP, Barely Blue, on September 20.

Joining Midland on the lineup is West 22nd. Formed in 2022 in West Campus by University of Texas students Logan Madsen, Gabe Acevedo and Jeremy Ancheta, the indie rock quintet released their debut EP All The Way Home in August 2023 led by the chart-topping "Sunburns." West 22nd continues to garner attention with their captivating live performances, including their first showcase appearance at South By Southwest in 2024. The band is set to perform at ACL Music Festival this October.

"Longhorn City Limits here we go again," said Chris Del Conte, Vice President and Folger Family Athletics Director. "We are so excited to get Season Six underway and what better way than to welcome back our friends Midland to the Forty Acres with UT's very own West 22nd kicking it all off. LBJ Lawn will once again cement its place as the best college football tailgate in the country.

West 22nd will hit the stage at 11 a.m., followed by Midland at 12:30 p.m.

Fans ages 21-and-up can once again enjoy signature experiences at Longhorn City Limits including the Still Austin Music Lounge. Serving up a full menu of refreshments including the Still Austin Horns Up Bourbon Lemonade on ice, the lounge provides relaxation in a shaded area while enjoying the show. Fans won't want to miss surprises and limited-edition swag curated by Still Austin Whiskey Co, the homegrown grain-to-glass craft distillery using 100% Texas grains.

Also returning to LCL is the Tito's Tailgate located in front of the LBJ Fountain. The area features refreshing Tito's cocktails on tap, shaded views of the stage, and misting stations that provide the perfect spot to hang and stay cool while tailgating in real Texas fashion. Stop by for a chance for exclusive Tito's x Texas bandanas while supplies last!

New this season, Pinkerton's BBQ will be serving up barbecue on the LBJ Lawn on gamedays. Recognized by Texas Monthly as a "Top 50 BBQ Joint" from 2017-2024, this marks Pinkerton's first satellite location in Austin.

Concert goers can also enjoy pregame happy hour pricing featuring select $5 domestic and $6.50 premium beers at Longhorn City Limits.
