Anniversary Gold, German Cart Racing & Why Your Home Decor is Ugly

Anniversary Gold, German Cart Racing & Why Your Home Decor is Apparently Ugly

Wednesday, August 20, 2025 - Available on iHeartRadio

It's National Bacon Lovers' Day, which explains why vegetarian friends are avoiding us with the same intensity we avoid exercise—their salads truly feel safe today! Plus, National Radio Day gives us a chance to celebrate nearly 29 years of me somehow surviving on-air in Corpus Christi since July 20, 1996.

Personal Milestone: Happy 9th Anniversary to my beautiful bride Addie! It's been 3,285 days of love, laughter, and figuring out why we own 14 different types of Yeti mugs. Our marriage is like fine wine—it gets better with age and occasionally gives her a headache. She's still my favorite person to argue over the TV remote with. Here's hoping the next nine years bring us a second remote!

Local Updates That Matter: TxDOT is hosting public hearings for the US 77 interstate upgrade proposal—today 4:30-6:30pm at Refugio County Expo Center, tomorrow same time at Woodsboro School Cafeteria. Tonight, catch the Hooks as the "Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits" taking on Frisco RoughRiders at 6:35pm, with special fundraising efforts for Ingram Little League's flood recovery through jersey auctions, 50/50 raffles, and boot collections and more at CCHooks.com.

Hockey Season Approaches: The Corpus Christi IceRays are making hockey more family-friendly this season! During home game weeks, adult Family Section tickets include a free kid's ticket, plus $5 student tickets available day-of-game with valid ID. Home opener is September 19th—details at GoIceRays.com.

Radio Reflections: Being inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame last year was an incredible honor, and somehow y'all are still tolerant of my voice after nearly three decades. Behind-the-scenes truth: the coffee here is terrible, but the job remains a blessing beyond measure.

Viral Video Madness: Interior designer Nicolas Fairford went viral on TikTok listing five "ugly" things you probably have in your home—most people think his list is ridiculous. Meanwhile, Germany has a TV competition where women push shopping carts toward targets for points, complete with dramatic commentary. Yes, this exists, and yes, it's as entertaining as it sounds.

Win Big: iHeartRadio Music Festival trip to Vegas plus $1000 tomorrow at 9am, 1pm & 5pm! Don't forget to nominate outstanding teachers for $5000 classroom funds at iHeartRadio.com/Teachers.

BigFrankShow2GO: Where anniversary wisdom meets German shopping cart championships—available on iHeartRadio.
