Halloween Candies That Aren’t That Unhealthy

The tradition of Trick-or-treating is only goes back to the 1950s and despite the assumption that all Halloween candy is bad for you, EatThis,NotThat! has come up with 20 of the candies that aren’t really that bad for you. Here’s the list they compiled:

  • Unreal – chocolate treats that are low in sugar
  • Gigantic – candy bars such as Hazelnut Café, Almond Horchata, Banana Pecan and Salted Peanut are big on flavor and low in sugar.
  • Hi-Chew Reduced Sugar – a full serving is 6 pieces with 13 grams of sugar and these have a third less sugar than their Hi-Chew candies.
  • Smart Sweets – these offer varieties of famous candies with less sugar because they use allulose as a sweetener.
  • Justin’s – dark chocolate peanut butter cups made entirely from organic ingredients and the company is allied with the Rainforest Alliance.
  • YumEarth – a candy brand that makes their products with high-quality organic ingredients.
  • Little Secrets – their chocolate bars and other products are made with healthy, fair-trade sustainably sourced ingredients and some of the items are Peanut Butter Pieces in Dark Chocolate, Chocolate Crème Crispy Wafers and Creamy Caramel Cookie Bars in Milk Chocolate.
  • Beyond Good – rich, complex chocolate bars made in Italy using directly-sourced ingredients from spots like Uganda and Madagascar.
  • Solely – fruit snacks with the only ingredients being real fruit and naturally sourced ascorbic acid.
  • Project 7 – low-carb, low-sugar candy like Sour Fruit Gummies, Gummy Bears, red licorice, lollipops and more.
  • Theo – excellent chocolate products like Coffee Toffee, Cherry Almond and Pure Dark made with organic ingredients and fair-trade certified.
  • Tamalitoz – hard candies that are infused with lime, sea salt and chili with many of the products low in sugar.
  • SkinnyDipped – known for their low-sugar peanut butter cups which are claimed to taste just as good as mainstream brands that contain lots of sugar.

  • Behave – this brand uses only allulose for sweetening and is known for its Sour Bears, Sour Stars and regular Gummy Bears.
  • Fruit-tella – soft and chewy fruit snack candies with very little added sugar.
  • Chocolove – low-sugar candy bars made with high quality ingredients with flavors that include Toffee & Almonds, Mint Crème in Dark Chocolate and Passion Fruit.
  • Pink Panda – offers lower-sugar and low-carb candies that are similar to many mainstream brands.
  • Alter Eco – this company makes a wide range of products, but their truffles are low in sugar with organic ingredients and some of the varieties are Classic Dar, Silk Velvet and Salted Caramel.
