Kenny Chesney stirred anticipation for an announcement on the horizon with a vague Instagram caption on Tuesday afternoon (January 7).

The “When The Sun Goes Down” hitmaker posted a photo of himself on stage, and wrote in the caption: “New year and new experiences. Started rehearsals today for what’s next. Can’t wait to share. KC.” Hundreds of commenters expressed their eagerness for more updates, and some even guessed the country star might announce a Las Vegas residency, a 2025 tour or a new album, among other comments. However, Chesney has not shared additional details as of publication time on Wednesday morning (January 8).

Last year, Chesney released his latest full-length record, Born. The 15-track album included “Just To Say We Did,” “Take Her Home,” the title track and more. Chesney said last year that the project “continues the story of who we are and how we live, breathe, work, rock, kick back and sometimes get tangled up in feelings that are anything but simple.” The album added to a lengthy list of career-spanning hits by the East Tennessee-born country artist, including “Get Along,” “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy,” “Beer In Mexico,” “I Go Back,” “How Forever Feels,” “Summertime” and many more.

Chesney spent the year on the road with Zac Brown Band, Megan Moroney and Uncle Kracker on his headlining “Sun Goes Down 2024 Tour.” Chesney said he titled the tour after his yearly 2000s anthem because it “captured a vibe and a moment so perfectly. No matter how much fun you’re having all day long, ‘everything gets hotter when the sun goes down.’ I know from years of experience that’s true. …It’s gonna be awesome.”
